This recipe taste just like the real ones. No joking. This taste even better than real marie biscuits. The biscuits turn out crispy and flaky. Perfect to enjoy with your cup of coffee or tea. The biscuits are eggless and is super easy to make. Just try to roll the biscuits thin so it will stay crispy.

Marie Biscuits Ingredients

All Purpose Flour

All purpose flour is used in this recipe. But equal amount of wheat flour can be used as well. There might be a slight change in texture, but it will be healthy option.

Milk

Use full fat milk. Milk along with butter adds the moisture for making the dough. Also it tenderizes the biscuit dough.

Sugar

Very little amount of sugar is required. Since marie biscuits are not an overly sweet biscuits.

Butter

Butter is what you need for the flavour. You can use butter substitutes as well.

Baking Soda

Baking soda also known as cooking soda helps to make the cookies or biscuits light and crispy.

How to Make Marie Biscuits at Home

Pre-Preparation

Take milk, sugar, baking soda in a sauce pan and heat it up. Cook till sugar melts and it comes to a good boil. Take it off the heat and set aside to cool. Preheat oven to 160 degree C.

Making Biscuit Dough

Take flour, butter and salt in a bowl. Use a fork to rub the butter into the flour. Once it is mixed, add the liquid and form into a dough.

Rolling & Baking

Now take a portion of dough and roll it thin. Cut it using round cutter. Arrange it in a baking tray which is lined with parchment paper and bake for 8 - 10 mins. Remove and cool on a wire rack completely. Store in an air tight container.

Ingredients

  • 30 grams Unsalted Butter
  • cup Milk 30 ml
  • cup All Purpose Flour 150 grams
  • Salt a pinch
  • ¼ cup Sugar 50 grams
  • ¼ tsp Baking Soda

    • If you feel like the dough is too dry, then add in more milk.
    • Butter adds flavour for the dough. So use butter for best taste.
    • Don't over bake the cookies else it may burn. Bake till it turns golden.
    • Biscuits may look soft when you remove it from oven, but it will harden as they cool.

    Biscuits can be baked, cooled completely and stored in an air tight container upto a week. Marie biscuits can be served with a cup of tea or coffee.

        I haven’t tested it, but I would guess that’s because the butter melted before getting into the oven. Try to use cold butter and maybe refrigerate between steps.

I want to ask 1 thisng thei is any difference in making cookies in summer or winter bcz many time i tried this recipe in winter and cookies was awesome in taste and also crispy... But today i tried this recipe in summer so cookies are not found perfect i found little harder in bight... So i think its main reson is summer butter melted so fast so when i maked i found the dough is little softer... Cookies not gating proper shap... Plzzz reply

        if cookie dough is too soft. put it in frdige for 15 mins and then make cookies.

      Thank you very much for the recipe. The biscuits tasted just like the store bought ones that my mother-in-law asked me why they were warm - she didn't expect that they were homemade ☺️
      I measured using weight, but when I made the dough, I felt it was a bit dry and added a spot of milk and some ghee. Was that the right thing to do? If I want it a little more crumbly and a little less sweet, can I increase butter and reduce sugar? Do you think that will work?

      I found the quantity of milk is not enough and it was too difficult to add extra in once I had mixed it into the flour. If you are going to make this, you definitely need to use more milk or butter for a better dough to work with.

        no i didnt flip them. once you take them out of oven, it will remain soft. but as it cools it will harden

        Yes you can make chocolate flavoured. Remove 1 tbsp of flour and replace it with cocoa pwoder.
