With more than 200,000 gaming apps in the Apple App Store, you have plenty of options to scratch your gaming itch.

Some gamers want to play for fun, while others might want to play for money. Then there are the gamers who want both – to have fun and make a little cash while they’re at it. If that’s you, then you should check out Solitaire Cash – a fun app based on the classic card game.

In this Solitaire Cash review, we’ll take a closer look at the game and explain the basics so you can decide whether it’s worth your time to play.

What is Solitaire Cash?

Solitaire Cash is a free-to-download gaming app where you play Solitaire against other online gamers to win real cash and rewards. The game is available on iOS, Android, and Galaxy devices.

The game is highly rated in Apple’s App Store with 4.6 out of 5 stars and over 250,000 reviews. To play, you enter tournaments (some require real cash upfront while others don’t) with other similarly skilled gamers. These tournaments could include anywhere from 5 to 20 participants.

Each player plays separately using the same deck. The top three finishers win prize money based on the tournament’s overall entry fee. For example, a five-person tournament with a $1 entry fee may have a prize pool of $3.50 – with $2.50 going to first place, 70 cents going to second place, and 30 cents going to third place. Tournaments with larger prize pools pay out more.

Cash games are only available in states that allow cash tournaments. So, if you live in Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, or South Dakota, you’re out of luck.

Solitaire Cash’s developer, Papaya Gaming, is also the creator of other mobile games, such as Bubble Cash and Bingo Cash. Read this Bingo Cash review to learn more.

How Does Solitaire Cash Work?

Solitaire Cash works like a standard game of Solitaire.

After the cards are dealt, your goal is to fill the four upper stacks with cards of the same suit in increasing order, from Ace to King.

On the main table, your goal is to place the cards in decreasing order with alternating colors. For example, a red king would be followed by a black queen, a red Jack, a black 10, and so on.

If you run out of moves on the main table, you can click on the stockpile in the top right of your game screen for three new cards. If you make a mistake along the way, the game allows you to undo one move at a time as many times as you want throughout the game. Note that you can’t go back more than one move, and you’ll be deducted 20 points for every undo you make.

With Solitaire Cash, you have five minutes to complete each game. If you finish early, you’ll receive a time bonus based on how much time you have remaining. So, if you get stuck and cannot finish the deck, then go ahead and submit your score. This way, you’ll also get credit for the time remaining.

You can enter tournaments with real cash or gems. Some of the tournaments require cash or gems only, while others require a combination of both.

Gems allow you to play in “Gem Tournaments,” which only require a small amount of collected gems, not real cash. You can get gems by playing in tournaments and completing other tasks throughout the game. Players can also win “bonus cash” with gems, which will allow them to participate in cash tournaments.

While playing, you’ll also gain “Experience Points” for each tournament you participate in. As you gain experience points, you can level up – which will reward you with more gems or other rewards that increase with each level.

Is Solitaire Cash Legit?

With this Solitaire Cash review, I say the game is absolutely legit.

Solitaire Cash has a 4.6 out of 5 rating on Apple’s App Store with more than 250,000 reviews. The game was created by Papaya Gaming, a company with more than 200 employees whose games have been downloaded over 37 million times worldwide. They also host over 15 million tournaments daily.

In addition, I can tell you from personal experience the app is legitimate. I played Solitaire Cash using only free gems to start, then decided to make a deposit.

I won several tournaments and made up to $2.50, and I finished outside of the top three in many tournaments. I usually stuck with the lower entry fee tournaments – from $1 to $2.50 mainly. Though the game is a fun way to make a few dollars here and there, I wouldn’t recommend it as a steady income source.

Other than several pop-up game-related ads when you start playing each time, Solitaire Cash also doesn’t bombard you with videos like other gaming apps.

Is Solitaire Cash Safe?

Yes. Like any online game, you’ll want to use common sense when spending actual money. But Solitaire Cash is a highly-rated legitimate app with a 4.6 out of 5 rating in the Apple App Store.

The game allows you to make deposits using Apple Pay, PayPal, Visa, and MasterCard. And players can make withdrawals using a PayPal-connected account.

Pros and Cons of Solitaire Cash

Pros

  • It’s a legit way to win actual cash.
  • Easy to get started and play – especially if you’re familiar with Solitaire.
  • Doesn’t bombard you with video ads.

Cons

  • Highly addictive – meaning easy to spend money.
  • Withdrawals require a $1 processing fee and can take up to 14 days.
  • Cash tournaments aren’t available in every state (currently not available in Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, or South Dakota).

Solitaire Cash Reviews BBB

Solitaire Cash hasn’t received any reviews through the Better Business Bureau (BBB). That’s probably good news – most people don’t visit the BBB site unless they have something to complain about.

Is Solitaire Cash Worth It?

I guess that depends on what “worth it” means to you. Solitaire Cash is free, so you don’t have to pay anything to dive in and get started.

Now, if you’re talking about actually making money with Solitaire Cash – yes, you can do that. However, this isn’t a legitimate way to make a steady stream of income. Really, it’s just a fun way to make a few bucks here and there as a side gig.

Though the developer says the game isn’t considered gambling because it’s based on skill, Solitaire Cash is absolutely addictive – and, if you aren’t careful – you can spend a decent amount of money trying to win more.

For Solitaire lovers – and even casual Solitaire fans – Solitaire Cash is a no-brainer to at least give a try. That’s especially true whether you want to play for free or don’t mind playing for a few bucks.
